I use a few simple rules to help me achieve the results that produce meaningful and expressive images. I use fast lenses that take advantage of available light and try to avoid using flash units. I use my telephoto lens as much as possible as this allows me to shoot from a distance without drawing attention away from subjects. I use wide apertures to compress the depth of field and to draw attention to the subjects in the image. I also use wide-angle lenses for candid photos in the dynamic atmosphere of a reception.
My ultimate goal is to create photographic images that capture the emotion and love felt between a bride and groom on their wedding day. A tangible reminder to the couple of the chemistry that took place on the day they were married.
