Cake Box Bakery
I would strongly recommend to anyone, especially to brides, not to do business with the Cake Box in Central Square, NY. I should have done my homework. If you look at the website, you can see all the dents and uneven lines of practically all of their cakes. I got a cake through them for a bridal shower, a simple two layer cake, and it was the sloppiest most amateur cake that I have ever seen. The fondant was thrown onto the cake in a very rushed way. I should have gone to Wegmans and saved my money. When I confronted the owner, I was given nothing but a nasty attitude and an unwillingness for a compromise even though the cake was a sloppy mess and not even the right color!! Now mind you, this was somehow turned around to be my fault. It was as though because she already had my money she didn't care. Like I said, amateur. I wish I would have never set foot in her "bakery." Just because someone used to make cakes as a side job for friends and family doesn't mean they are capable of running their own business. I was so disappointed and cannot believe the way I was treated. ENTER THE CAKE BOX AT YOUR OWN RISK!!

I'm looking to give money to assist Japan?
I'm so unhappy by what happened in Japan with the earthquake plus tsunami and I really want to assist all of them by donation.
Does any person know an online site or anything where you can donate to help Japan?

I do not recommend cakebox to anyone. We picked them as our wedding bakery and ended up with a cake completely the wrong color we asked for after we gave a swatch of the colors. Not to mention the cake was so dry no one would eat it. After communication with the owner and an email showing a refund should be issued we have nothing. We have tried calling and emailing and no response. Beyond unprofessional. The week of our wedding we tried contacting as my reception all said they had no confirmation yet and 6 days later she finally respond. As bride and groom we had enough going on did not need to be hunting down my bakery. All and all this is not the experience I would wish upon anyone. I would recommend Mario's bakery in north syracuse and Gingersnap Bakery in Phoenix.

Absolutely DO NOT use CakeBox Bakery. Like the prior posts have noted, the owner/baker of the store was rude. We had initially went to her for our wedding cake after discovering that the other one we had picked was charging us an enormous amount of money. CakeBox was actually cheaper for us, but in hindsight, we should have gone with the more expensive vendor.
The fondant was falling off our wedding cake, cracked, and looked terrible. After we confronted her regarding this, she agreed to refund us the cost of the fondant. We have this in writing via e-mail. We never received the refund check in the mail. . .this is now going on 2 months. We are putting a formal complaint through the Better Business Bureau with this bakery and will be posting on all sorts of wedding sites regarding this bakery.

I have only bought cookies from this bakery and even though those are good I would not buy a wedding cake. The owner is NOT very plesant and her bakery is a bit amateur-ish. I go in often for the chocolate gooey cookies and you'd think she would be more friendly with me but she isn't. Just a FYI.

I too did not have a good experience at the Cake Box - I went there to order a Bridal Shower cake for my
niece. The prices were way too high - as much as the Wedding Cake would have been. There was nothing
in the display cases to even taste to see if product was good. Also, the hours of operation are not dictated by
customers - but by the owners needs. I will not frequent this establishment again.
